The Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 179 combines the Duoface dual-time zone mechanism with the fourth-generation Gyrotourbillon. The Gyrotourbillon, Jaeger-LeCoultre's signature multi-axis tourbillon, is a technological innovation developed specifically for the Reverso collection. An ultra-light titanium frame and an outer frame mounted on ball bearings are perpendicular to each other and rotate at different speeds: the inner tourbillon rotates 360 degrees every 16 seconds, while the outer frame rotates once per minute. The hemispherical balance spring and the unique double-anchor Gyrolab balance wheel demonstrate Jaeger-LeCoultre's relentless pursuit of precision and mechanical efficiency. Abandoning the traditional bridge-fixed method, the spherical flying tourbillon is supported by ball rings, appearing to float between the front and back dials.

 The new black and gray color scheme echoes the monochromatic color schemes of the Art Deco period, creating a rich and striking contrast with the 18K rose gold case, bridges, and decorative plates. This Reverso watch is equipped with the Duoface dual-time zone movement, presenting a distinct "dual personality" on both sides.  The front dial adopts the Art Deco geometric design of the original Reverso watch, creating a subtle visual effect. The delicate gold wire grids crisscrossing the decorative plates and bridges complement the refined metal case. In fact, these fine lines are actually ultra-fine ribs deliberately preserved on the rose gold movement baseplate, with 200 grooves laser-cut into the metal surface to facilitate lacquer filling. The black lacquered back dial highlights the skeletonized hour and minute display rings and their supporting bridges, giving it a lighter, more ethereal appearance, contrasting sharply with the warm texture of the other movement components and the micro-sandblasted finish.
