Samsung has released a new software update based on Tizen's Gear S2 smartwatch, which offers new fitness features, new control options for Gear VR and powerpoint demos, and a more detailed daily morning weather forecast. The company said the updates will make this three-year-old smart watch even easier to use. The software update also features a clearer user interface as described by Samsung, making it easier to view content, although we always find S2's bezel controller UI to be its best feature.
This update adds a new App Shortcuts widget to Gear S2 that automatically puts your most recently used and favorite apps in one place. You can now swipe down from any screen to access the quick panel, which displays settings such as brightness, volume, and airplane mode. Get popular replica watches, copy watches, look alike watches at Copwatchalike.co, all watches are all in excellent quality with affordable price.
New fitness and health features include a multi-workout widget that lets you preset your favorite routines and set inactivity alerts. Just like on the Apple Watch, these alerts remind you to get up and stretch after sitting for a while. When Gear S2 is connected to the Samsung Health App, you can use its weight management features to track your daily workouts and calories burned and to see your heart rate.
Samsung's Gear S2 smart watch was released in 2015. At the time, we liked its attractive design and display, but in our comments on slow and limited voice control and the lack of available apps, it lost points. In the past few years, Samsung has added more features to the Gear S2, including Samsung Pay, compatibility with the iPhone and Snoopy dials, to name a few.
